A STUDY ON RONNIE’S BROKEN HOME IN “LAST SONG” FILM BY NICHOLAS SPARKS

Film is one kind of drama, but it is not presented on the stage in front of audience like drama. Film is motion art which represents cultural artifact, such as a popular entertainment and powerful method of education and communication. “Last Song” Film is a kind of film that has many lessons for our life. Learn how to express something, learn how to solve problem from the film, and learn how to face our life. In this study, the writer is interested in analyzing on Ronnie’s broken home in “Last Song” Film. In detail, the purposes of this study were (1) Describing the reasons of Ronnie’s broken home (2) Knowing the effects of Ronnie’s broken home (3) Finding out how Ronnie overcomes the problem in “Last Song” Film. This analysis used a descriptive qualitative research design because it did not use hypothesis and statistic methods. The approach in this study was objective approach. The object of this study focused on analysis on the content of literary works itself. The object of this study was “Last Song” film by Nicholas Spark in a form dialogues, action and quotation related to its problem. The result of this study showed of Ronnie’s broken home. They were reasons, effects and overcome. The reasons of Ronnie’s broken home were (1) The lack of her father’s attention, which was caused by her father who left her since she was eleven years old when her parents got broken home. (2) Hate her father, which was caused by her father who made her life bad without complete family. The effects of Ronnie’s broken home were (1) The decrease mark in her school, which was caused she joined the gangster until she had bad mark in her school. (2) Become a temperamental person, which was caused by she would get angry when she was uncomfortable and got depressed when she heard and looked piano. The ways to overcome the problem were although she got decrease mark in her academic, but in she was talented her non academic. She was accepted in University of Juilliard to join school that ever given the scholarship to Ronnie. And then from meeting Will, her life was changed. She was already closed with her father and was never angry again
